Frequently asked questions.

How do I determine the depth of a raised cedar garden bed that I need?

We offer 14” depth and 21” depth for our raised cedar garden beds. Both depths accommodate growing all herbs and vegetables. Your decision should be based on a few things:

  1. Comfort. The higher the bed, the less bending over you will need to do during planting, caring for, and harvesting plants.

  2. Condition of the underlying soil. The worse the underlying soil is, the deeper you will want the bed so you can maximize the amount of good soil available to your plants.

  3. Watering Needs. A deeper bed holds more soil and moisture, which means your watering needs will be reduced.
